Wow Ed, that is tough, especially this far down the road! If i were leading, and I discovered even the first issue (deep sexual sins), I would stand the guy down immediately. God is holy, and if these things remain unrepented that there is little chance of genuine worship taking hold (hence the service being killed off). Now, i know we joke about it,. but the caramel machiatto could be on the menu (see the next podcast). How to do it, that is another thing. I would suggest honesty, love and gentleness, but also firmness. You simply cannot let a guy who continues grappling in sin to lead the people. It is not fair to the church, the pastor or the Lord, who is holy. Perhaps a "break to sort out the issues" is in order. If he reacts badly to this, then he is not a servant and if he chooses to walk, so be it. This could be a great opportunity to rebuke and correct him in love, saying "let's take a break for 2 months, during which time we can really sort your life out." If he is willing to comply, then you have a chance to impact his life for the Lord. If he is not, then you don't want that attitude on your stage. Might sound harsh, but nobody is bigger than God and His Holiness. Please email us and let us know how you go, Ed, we will pray for you!

Point taken Emeline, sometimes Aussies just go joke mad! Certainly no offence is intended, and I actually cut some of that stuff out, but mostly we just let things run so occassionally some things sneak through. As someone who travels the world, I actually love and appreciate all countries and cultures. We even joke about our own country! I love what each culture brings to the table, so you are right and I will pass this on to the gang. However, if you knew us personally, you would recognize that we are a fun and funny bunch around the dinner table, on stage in church and on the pod. It is the way we are. but thanks for steadying us us. Bless ya!

Chirantha, we are probably going to have to agree to disagree on this one. I am certainly not here to debate the Catholic Mass, but my point is simple... worship is about leading people closer to the Lord. Now you might live in a Catholic enclave, but most of our listeners do not. And their churches are celebration, as well as teaching. The worship is the celebration bit and that is what we are dealing with on this site. You cannot say we are of David and not of Jesus if we worship in a different way to you. This is the type of exclusivity that has started wars! I would urge all worship leaders to worship in the way that they feel the Lord is leading them, and the way that their people understand. If it uses traditional instruments, language or song, that's fine I think. If your way is the Mass, that's nice for you but you cannot tell me it is the only way for me! Being a non-Catholic, I do not understand or appreciate what I have seen of the mass. I would rather worship the way I know and understand, but I do so without telling you taht you have to adhere to my way. We all must be careful what we say!
